The 123\ROLLSROYCE-8-R-V replaces most Lucas-distributors used in Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and Bentley T-series. It also offers : - vacuum-advance - automatic dwell - spark balancing - automatic power-cut after 1 second - gearshift retard The 'factory-setting' for this unit is position '0'. This will give you the original advance- and vacuum- curve as specified for Rolls Royce and Bentley. The 123\ROLLSROYCE-8-R-V should statically be installed at TDC ( end of the compression-stroke ) for cylinder number 1. Checking the right amount of advance is best done with a stroboscope above 3200 rpm : the total advance crankshaft should be 36 degrees. ( with disconnected vacuum that is ) The 123\ROLLSROYCE-8-R-V not only exactly balances the amount of energy for each cylinder, it also calculates the optimum timing for each spark, in order to run the engine as smooth as possible!
